Understanding Kidney Disease

Kidney Disease

Kidney Disease, more formally known as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), is a worldwide health crisis that cannot be understated. Approximately 10% of the worldwide population is affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD) and millions die each year because they do not have access to affordable treatment.

Some kidney problems can be early signs of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Finding and treating these problems early can help prevent CKD from becoming kidney failure. Other kidney problems can lead to CKD if they are not treated (if you have been diagnosed already with CKD, read this article for some critical information of things you need to be aware of). Health issues with kidneys go beyond CKD. Below is an ongoing list of common kidney diseases.

  • Diabetic kidney disease
  • Glomerulonephritis
  • Hematuria
  • Kidney stones
  • Kidney Failure

Nutrition

Nutrition is usually a topic that comes up regarding health related issues to kidneys. The way that kidneys function as a part of your digestive system is reason enough to make nutritional changes to your diet that can aid in kidney treatment.

Perhaps you are searching online in an attempt to find a special diet or a one-size-fits-all approach to kidney disease prevention. While some may claim definitive nutritional steps to avoid kidney issues, this comprehensive list does not exist. The main reason for the lack of an all-inclusive list is the complex and unique way that your particular kidney condition may need to be addressed.
